What NEW civilian agencies are you targeting in the year ahead? This is a standard question the OrangeSlices AI team asks every single small business we partner with. CMS is one of the three agencies/departments mentioned the most (DHS and IRS are the other two, followed closely by USDA). As such, it is not a surprise that the second most asked question we receive is can you help me find a growth leader who has a track record of winning at CMS? This is a taller task, but one reliable answer we can offer is to point them in the direction of a broad set of senior industry and government leaders who now serve as independent consultants and can help guide them along as they work to gain an understanding of the agency.

Included here we share 20 former Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services leaders and innovators that have left the agency in the past few years that are either actively acting as independent consultants today or who may be open to consulting arrangements. This group of senior executives brings a broad set of expertise that covers everything from Data & Analytics; Acquisition; and Marketplace IT; to Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations; Quality Improvement, Healthcare Transformation and Program Integrity.

OS AI Note: This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all available consultants, nor can we speak to the interest of these leaders in supporting your company. This list simply serves as a representative example of the types of former agency leaders who have gone out on their own and that have clear technical chops and business insight. It also never hurts to reach out to ask as they may have another person in mind who fits the bill.
