Members of the OrangeSlices AI team attended Wednesday’s popular virtual Federal Health virtual Happy Hour, appropriately themed Summer Spirit and Vacation Vibes. If you don’t go to this recurring and increasingly popular event series hosted by Shelley McGuire, you are missing out. It is always a fun and well-run event filled with valuable updates and connections added every time. (Track Shelley’s events here)

For those who were unable to attend, included below is an overview detailing some of the most relevant topics that OS AI heard at the event.

*Please note that this is the way OS AI heard it. If you are pursuing any of these opportunities, we encourage you to validate this information. We all know how quickly things can change. CMS Advanced Provider Screening – This is on track for August/ September release and is expected to go out on 8(a) STARS III with Tonya Anderson serving as the CO.

CMS One Program Integrity (One PI) Our last update noted that: “Tonya Anderson is the CO. OptumServe is the Incumbent. No Sources Sought is expected to be released. The program office will do one-on-one meetings. The expectation is that CMS will post this to GSA as full and open, unrestricted in September of 2023. Small Businesses interested in bidding (and who are qualified) as a Prime should ask to be considered for a one-on-one meeting.” We understand this is not a done deal yet.

CMS MAC A/B Jurisdiction J – The hope is to release this around July 7. Note that one percent of the subcontracting goal is intended for AbilityOne, while five percent of the subcontracting goal is intended for small business. Since this goal is based on contract value, this is significant.

NIH NCATS LitCoin Foundation Knowledge Graph Generation – While you may see this about, this is not open to all. As Phase III of an Innovation Challenge this will be of interest to players that were successful in the first two stages of competition only.

CMS Learning Management System recompete – With the prior award an 8(a) sole source and a current contract ending August 23, expect that this is likely to either be re-awarded to the incumbent, Swingtech, or to a partner company.

CMS Review and Analysis Plan of Benefit Packages and other MA Data submitted by Medicare Orgs – Details are as yet TBD.

NIH Automation Analytics and Technical Support within CSR – The intent is to release this unrestricted on CIO-SP3 with a hope to have subcontracting opportunities for small business available. More to come.

NIH NHGRI IT Cloud Support – This is expected to go out under CIO-SP3 as a small business set aside action with Dorothy Maxwell as the CO around July 14. Note that the value is small – under $5M.

NIH NHGRI Data and Software Resources Ecosystem – Also smaller in value, this is expected to go out as a small business set-aside action on eBuy. Dorothy Maxwell is the CO.

NIH NIDA IRP Clinical Program Support for Participant Remuneration Travel Subsistence is also expected to be a small business set-aside action on eBuy.

We also heard that acquisition planning is expected to begin soon on the recompete of RMADA. No further details are available.

** An Elev8 GovCon Honoree, noted for a corporate culture that demonstrates excellence, making the company a beacon for talent, for partners, and for clients.

We cannot and will not speculate here as to the reasons for the increased interest, but whether it is a company evaluating them as a potential partner; a federal acquisition leader doing their due diligence; or a consultant weighing their next job move, this group of companies has been receiving increased interest.

If you are a small business with capabilities and socio-economic status that might support any of these efforts, comment below and let others know you are interested.
