Members of the OrangeSlices AI team attended Thursday’s popular virtual Federal Health Happy Hour. If you don’t go to this recurring and increasingly popular event series hosted by Shelley McGuire, you are missing out. It is always a fun and well-run event filled with valuable updates and connections added every time. (Track Shelley’s events here)

For those who were unable to attend, included below is an overview detailing some of the most relevant topics that OS AI heard at the event.

*Please note that this is the way OS AI heard it. If you are pursuing any of these opportunities, we encourage you to validate this information. We all know how quickly things can change. RMADA 3 – Not much is new since the last updates, but there is a push happening to hold an industry day or even a virtual event as CMS is aware the level of interest will be quite high for the recompete of this $5B multiple-award IDIQ.

$40M+ CMS Retiree Drug Subsidy (RDS) Support Contract – Evelyn Dixon is the CO. This is still in the early stages, but some initial meetings and acquisition discussions are taking place. GDIT is the incumbent here. If One PI is any indication of the power Anita Allen yields, there is a possibility this ends up as a small business set-aside action.

Along those lines, there had been some discussion that CMS might end up competing the next iteration of the $35M+ Insurance Market Reform Enforcement opportunity (CMS Forecast Number 240258) unrestricted, but it appears that, after conducting some market research, this is expected to stay as a small business set-aside action. The RFP is expected out as early as August 2nd on GSA MAS, with a primary NAICS of 541611. The forecast shows that Malissa Shin is the contracts lead. Of note here is that the expected value of this contract was $10M when it was awarded in 2019, but over the last four years, it has ballooned, with more than $37M in spend to date.

One good suggestion put forth was that, while the $197M CMS User Centric IT Support 2.0 (ECIS 2.0) Prime was recently awarded to Leidos, there may be significant subcontracting opportunities for those who have specific capabilities and expertise.

It is 5 o’clock somewhere – a last big topic and recommendation put forth by several attendees is to consider attending the in-person Happy Hour NCMA in Columbia, MD next Wednesday the 19th. Details are here.
