For over 35 years, CDC has completed CE accreditation proposals as Word document based products. However, as the CE program has expanded to meet the public health need, the varied standards, policies, and practices CDC must follow to receive course accreditation has complicated the process for the CE program and the CDC Components and funded partners. The CE process has led to increasing amounts of labor for CDC CE staff, CDC components and CDC funded partners requesting CE, causing sluggish workflow and lost productivity. The development of a CE Accreditation System will provide CDC with a more efficient way to meet the growing demands for accredited education and will save CDC time, money, and staffing resources. Ultimately, transforming the CE proposal to electronic form will increase capacity and provide greater efficiency and productivity, with the ability to quickly review documents, provide feedback, make changes and/or updates, and more effectively collaborate with the developer throughout the accreditation process.

The purpose of this contract is for CDC to acquire a web-based CE accreditation system that is efficient, scalable, and easy-to-use to meet the increasing training accreditation needs of CDC Components and CDC-funded partners.

It is anticipated that the contractor will customize an existing commercially available off-the-shelf (CoTS) product to meet CDC’s needs. The contractor shall provide development, project management, maintenance, and handover services for an accreditation management system in support of ETSB’s Accreditation and Compliance Team electronic proposal project. The contractor shall build and implement digital components of the continuing education accreditation system (CAS). The contractor shall work closely with the ETSB team to learn the process of accreditation, and shall build, test, and implement CAS as detailed herein.
