U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is planning an Edge Computing Industry Day on July 15, 2026, providing industry with an opportunity to learn more about the agency’s ongoing efforts to implement and expand edge computing capabilities across its operational technology environment.
Hosted by CBP’s Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Infrastructure and Support Services Operational Technology Division (OpsTech), the virtual event is intended to facilitate collaboration between government and industry as CBP continues to advance technologies that support mission-critical operations.
According to the notice, OpsTech is actively implementing edge computing capabilities designed to strengthen CBP’s operational technology landscape and improve operational effectiveness at the edge. During the session, agency representatives will discuss current implementation initiatives and use cases while seeking industry input on innovative technologies and approaches that could further support future requirements.
The Industry Day is also expected to provide vendors and stakeholders with a better understanding of ongoing edge computing activities and offer an opportunity for dialogue with CBP officials. Agency personnel will discuss capabilities they are seeking and invite interested companies to participate in future solution demonstrations through CBP Business Connect.
