VA taps Howard Steinman to be Executive Director, Digital Transformation Center

Building on recent experience serving as SES Senior Advisor to the VA CIO across enterprise AI strategy, cloud modernization, governance, and technology operating-model transformation within a $6.5B IT organization serving 9 million Veterans, this leader takes on a new role.

Howard Steinman is now listed as Executive Director, Digital Transformation Center within the Department of Veterans Affairs.

As Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Digital Transformation Center, Howard will lead VA’s centralized low-code/no-code and SaaS/PaaS delivery capability, overseeing a $750M+ annual portfolio and an ecosystem of nearly 300 government and contractor professionals.

The DTC helps one of the world’s largest healthcare and technology organizations move from multi-year custom software development toward faster, platform-based delivery across Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform/Dynamics 365, Pega, Appian, and other enterprise platforms.

Howard’s mandate is broader than technology implementation: build the strategy, operating mechanisms, talent model, governance, partnerships, and delivery system required to translate enterprise priorities into measurable Veteran outcomes at scale.
