The U.S. Air Force has released a Sources Sought Notice (FA805226X0001) for an AI Installation Lodging Optimization initiative, signaling early market engagement around a data and AI-driven approach to installation readiness.
Led by the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC), the effort focuses on deploying an enterprise application to improve how the Air Force plans for lodging capacity across its global footprint. Today’s process relies heavily on manual data collection across fragmented systems, creating gaps in visibility and increasing risk during surge events, exercises, and contingency operations.
The envisioned solution would integrate multiple authoritative data sources and unify up to 10 years of historical lodging, installation, and travel data into a single operational view. Using AI and machine learning, the platform is expected to deliver “pattern-of-life” utilization forecasting, along with scenario modeling capabilities to support forward-looking planning and resource prioritization.
The scope centers on delivering an initial production deployment, including application deployment, data integration, dashboard configuration, and development of forecasting and optimization models. The system will also support natural language queries, enabling planners to rapidly assess lodging capacity, infrastructure conditions, and operational readiness.
Beyond deployment, the requirement includes user training, operational rollout, and planning for enterprise scale, with the potential to expand across up to 83 Department of the Air Force installations.
This Sources Sought signals the Air Force’s continued push toward AI-enabled decision support, with a clear focus on turning fragmented installation data into actionable, enterprise-level insight.
