Members of the OrangeSlices AI team attended Friday’s HHS & CMS Online Happy Hour event – Opportunities Talk, Who’s Listening.

If you don’t go to this recurring and increasingly popular event hosted by Shelley McGuire, you are missing out. It is always a fun and well-run event filled with valuable updates and connections added every time. (Track her events here)

In the interests of sharing what we heard, for those who were unable to attend, included here are a few insights related to several upcoming and active requirements from across the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

$40M+ CMS Retiree Drug Subsidy (RDS) (App # 240695) – The agency is tentatively leaning towards competing this as unrestricted, but the acquisition strategy is still being determined.

CMS One PI – An award is expected to be announced in early April.

CMS Advanced Provider Screening – The release of this long-awaited solicitation has been pushed back to early March. It is still expected to go out on 8(a) STARS III.

CMS Unified Case management UCM – The RFP is expected to go out on GSA MAS in early to mid-April. Related – SDVOSB / SB on Alert: Recompete of $100M+ CMS Unified Case Management (UCM) RFP

8(a) Sole Source Alert – CMS Privacy Program Support – The incumbent contract was awarded to Unissant as an 8(a) sole source action the last time around on CMS SPARC IDIQ. CMS is planning to make a sole source contract award once again and they are in the midst of market research. Do your homework and, if you are a qualifying 8(a) small business that has related capabilities and truly believe that you can fit this need, email Anita Allen to request a copy of the statement of need. Include in the subject: Privacy Program Support SON Request. Respondents will be required to then turn around a response, to include a capabilities statement, by 8 am on March 11.

RMADA III Recompete – The sources sought was amended and extended to allow more time for responses. Small business needs to make sure to respond, even if only to a portion of the items. This may help the agency justify more small business participation.
