DHS cancels USCIS Zero Trust Cybersecurity and Operational Improvement support need

Updated January 11, 2024

Those firms preparing to respond to this early 2024 RFP seeking a broad range of services to support its long-term Zero Trust (ZT), Cybersecurity, and Operational Improvement journey, should note that the latest word out of DHS is that this requirement has been canceled. USCIS will not be proceeding with a solicitation at this time.

More will be shared as it is made available.

Small and large businesses alike will be working hard to influence how, when and where any forthcoming Department of Homeland Security United States Citizenship and Immigration Services solicitation is released, as the agency recently stated its intention to solicit for a broad range of services to support its long-term Zero Trust (ZT), Cybersecurity, and Operational Improvement journey.

Additional details are provided below. To see them, click User Login/Create Account in the upper right-hand corner to sign in or create a free account.

Any solicitation is unlikely to be released until early in the calendar year and 2024 Market Research is still underway, so the acquisition strategy (contract vehicle, set-side decision, etc.) is still TBD. What is known at this time is that, as part of the USCIS ZT/Cybersecurity journey, USCIS has determined that it requires contractor support to implement ZT requirements, and other cybersecurity and process improvement requirements across USCIS pursuant to White House Executive Order 14028 (EO14028), Office of Management & Budget Memos M-22-09 and M-22-18, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure & Security Agency (CISA) Zero Trust Maturity Model, and other relevant guidelines. The jockeying for position is well underway and will only continue as we move into the new fiscal year.

More details will be shared here as they are made available.
