NextStage Expands AI-Powered GovCon Capabilities with MCP Server

As government contractors increasingly adopt AI to streamline operations and accelerate growth, the ability to connect those tools with existing business systems is becoming more important.

NextStage, an AI growth platform built for government contractors, has introduced a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server that connects a user’s workspace with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude. The release expands NextStage’s existing AI capabilities, allowing customers to bring their GovCon data and business context into the AI tools they already use.

Bringing Connected GovCon Context into AI Workflows

While these tools can help teams work faster, their effectiveness often depends on the information available to them. When opportunity details, pipeline activity, capture intelligence, and proposal information are disconnected from AI workflows, teams are left manually transferring information or providing context with every interaction.

NextStage brings business development, capture, and proposal workflows together in one platform, with AI built in to automate tasks and accelerate work at every stage.

Through MCP, teams can use their preferred AI applications to develop capture presentations, prepare for pipeline reviews, triage new solicitations, and more using information already in NextStage.

Why an Open Approach to AI Is Important

AI capabilities are advancing faster than any single software provider can keep up with. A platform that builds only its own closed agents is competing with research labs spending billions of dollars a year on model capability, and a contractor who commits to that platform inherits the bet.

“AI tools are powerful on their own, but connecting them to the right business context opens up even more possibilities,” said Rye Jones, CEO and Co-Founder of NextStage. “We’re giving our customers more ways to put that power to work, accelerate their processes, and drive growth.”

This allows government contractors to take advantage of new capabilities as they emerge without sacrificing the value of their existing systems. NextStage’s built-in AI continues to automate work across the GovCon growth lifecycle, while MCP provides an additional way to work with that same information.

Maintaining Control Over AI Access

The MCP Server operates within users’ existing NextStage permissions. External AI tools can only access information and perform actions that the connected user is authorized to perform.

Administrators can disable MCP access across the workspace, restrict individual users, or turn off specific tools. Sessions and tool calls are recorded in the activity history, and users can revoke their approved connections at any time.

The NextStage MCP Server is available now. If you have questions or want to see how the MCP Server works with the rest of the platform, schedule a time to meet with the NextStage team.
