DoW taps Ryan Hetrick to be GenAI.mil Task Force Lead

Ryan Hetrick is now the U.S. Army Cyber Officer currently serving as the GenAI.mil Task Force Lead at the Pentagon, focused on accelerating the adoption and integration of generative AI across operational environments within the Department of War.

Ryan builds on recent experience serving as the Future Operations and AI Lead within the Cyber National Mission Force, focused on accelerating the adoption and integration of artificial intelligence across operational environments. Briefed AI initiatives and operational integration efforts across the national security community and presented AI assurance work at the MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Worked closely with operators, technical teams, and leadership to help shape the command’s approach to AI-enabled operations and future capability development.

Ryan previously led efforts to accelerate the adoption and operational integration of artificial intelligence across U.S. Army and Department of War missions. Focused on deploying advanced AI systems into real operational workflows, shaping AI governance and assurance frameworks, and ensuring technical rigor, security, and warfighter trust. Operating at the intersection of policy, technology, and operations to drive pilot deployments, cross organization collaboration, and AI strategy in support of national security objectives.
