With the RFP for a new enterprise-wide ITSSS-2 BPA expected out this Summer, companies, large and small, are actively working to identify and engage with key subject matter experts and consultants who can help as they prepare for this important bid.
From CTO and Data Strategy lead, to Software Development Chief and Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure lead, included below we highlight a handful of recent and senior former FBI leaders who are now running their own consulting or technology companies, and are likely to have deep expertise in portions of the broad set of Information Technology and Communications services which will be covered under this multiple-award contract, to include delivering and providing IT services and solutions to fulfil new and emerging Geospatial, Laboratory Informatics, Data Science, Forensics, Workplace Automation, Business Application, Infrastructure and Communications, Intelligent Automation and Enterprise Platform needs.
OS AI Note: This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all available consultants, nor can we speak to the interest of these leaders in joining teams and/or supporting an ITSSS-2 bid. This list simply serves as a representative example of the types of former agency leaders who have gone out on their own and that have clear technical chops and insight.
A few of the former FBI leaders include:
- Trent Teyema | Current: President and Founder, CSG Strategies | Former: Chief of Cyber Readiness and CyD Chief Operating Officer – Section Chief (SES) Cyber Division, FBI
- Jonathan Trimble | Current: Founder and CEO, Bawn | Former: Chief Technology Officer – Information Management Division, FBI
- Kathleen Mills | Current: Founder and President, The Coaching Experience | Former: Deputy Assistant Director for Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure, FBI
- Donald Kyzar | Current: President, Kyzar Consulting | Former: Software Development Section Chief, FBI
- Afua Bruce | Current: Founder & Principal, ANB Advisory Group | Former: Data Strategy Lead, Financial Services Section, FBI
- Matthew DeSarno | CEO, Verfico Software | Former: SAC of the Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber Division, FBI
- George “Ren” McEachern | Current: President, TrustStorm | Former: Criminal Investigative Division (CID) International Corruption Unit (ICU) Acting Unit Chief, FBI
Please note that we intentionally did not include former FBI IT leaders and SMEs who are currently employed by other companies – there are plenty. Our hope is that this list will serve as a primer and reminder that there is expertise available if you go hunting for it.

We cannot and will not speculate here as to the reasons for the increased interest, but whether it is a company evaluating them as a potential partner; a federal acquisition leader doing their due diligence; or a consultant weighing their next job move, this group of companies has been receiving increased interest.
