Award-winning federal IT Modernization leader, DRT Strategies, Inc. (DRT), announced today that the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) has awarded the company the Oracle CPAIS Application Express (APEX) Conversion Contract.  This engagement is DRT’s third Oracle contract at USDA and incorporates operations and maintenance, development, systems upgrades, and process improvements for USDA’s property management system that manages nearly $10 Billion in USDA assets.  Oracle CPAIS APEX interfaces with the core financial system, Financial Management Modernization Initiative (FMMI), and accounts for all property and asset data for every agency and mission area within USDA.

“We are excited to earn this opportunity to partner with USDA in its mission-critical Oracle APEX migration and IT Modernization journey,” said Susan Kidd, CEO at DRT Strategies.

“This opportunity showcases that we are a world-class technology innovation and development firm that brings cost effective IT modernization solutions to our customers.  Our developers are highly skilled and effective at modernizing our customers’ business processes with advanced technology that align with and enhance existing IT investments.”

DRT previously completed a proof-of-concept using Oracle APEX with USDA. In less than three months DRT was able to validate Oracle APEX functionality within the USDA environment, test security controls for Single Sign On, and verify property databases could function with both the legacy and future state running simultaneously.

DRT IT Modernization efforts and approaches are anchored in cost efficiency and improved user experiences. Using Oracle APEX, DRT and USDA together will leverage current license structures, and set the foundation for easier system maintenance and improved user navigation, thus avoiding increasing costs to the government.
