NARA’s Museum Programs Division will engage a museum facilitation contractor to organize and lead a series of meetings of scholars, public historians, and other stakeholders to collect recommendations for the Rotunda. This group, in collaboration with the curatorial staff and approved by the Archivist of the United States, will be selected based on their disciplinary expertise and will ensure the intellectual integrity of the proposed updates. Because the Rotunda project is part of NARA’s commemoration of the semiquincentennial of the United States (A250), the advisors may also be consulted regarding other exhibits and programming to ensure a consistent approach. Their contributions are intended to complement, but not duplicate, a concurrent audience evaluation of the Rotunda that will be developed separately.
