2.0 Background
The RPA program requires hardware/software to support the scale expected. The RPA program is continuously soliciting ideas for unattended automations. Unattended RPA solutions requires hardware and software to issue/manage digital signatures/certificates to act as a “human” equivalent. This capability will ensure the IRS remains secure and confirm the validity of unattended automations when they interface with external systems that require credentials. Nshield HSMs are used in the IRS PKI to protect all certificates issued from that environment.
3.0 Scope
The RPA program requires the below resources to meet the future scaling needs of unattended automations; currently the IRS RPA program has more than 50 requests for unattended automations in the backlog and because of the quantity we expect increased growth in this subject once we procure the hardware in this SOW. Due to the unexpected growth of the RPA program, the below hardware and software is required to meet the immediate and future needs of the program.
To ensure availability and the functionality provided by the nShield Connect XC HSMs, the IRS requires that the hardware be covered by a one-year maintenance period in the event of a problem for:

5- nShield Connect Rack Mountain Rails
5 – nshield smart cards x10
5 – Enterprise Licenses (Unlimited Licenses)
5 – Enterprise client licenses -connect -premium

4 – travel and expense
