Sinking Ship: NITAAC Director exits, takes new role with HHS HRSA as $50B CIO-SP4 GWAC struggles to stay afloat

Federal News Network reports that NITAAC Director Brian Goodgerhas moved on to take a new role as the head of contracting activity at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Brian was NITAAC director for almost two years and served as acting director for almost two years as well. Ricky Clark, the NITAAC deputy director, is now acting director, a spokesperson confirmed.”

OS Take: The promise of the CIO-SP4 GWAC, a major revenue stream for this fee-for-service driven organization, is (as reported by OS last week) fending off a barrage of new court protests and there is no clear path for an award. Federal News Networks sat down with Larry Allen yesterday to discuss as they pondered the question of whether it is “Time to stick a fork in this bogged down procurement.

Legal expenses piling up + the incumbent CIO-SP3 contract is scheduled to expire in April of 2025 + no clear leader to steer the ship  = Sometimes it just adds up to a clear answer.

  1. I was working on this bid for clients in 2022 when I was building a lake house in NY, was working from the local hotel during the construction. We are now into the 3rd summer of that house. Maybe I will be retired before this gets awarded.
