With a goal of looking to understand the competitive landscape, and to shine a light on emerging players in the field, we spoke with Seema Dixit, Founder and President of Samyak Solutions (SSI). A longtime HHS partner, this growing 8(a) SDB , WOSB and HUBZone is leveraging relationships, pursuing growth and focused on giving back. SSI has entered into JV with Venesco, LLC under the SBA Mentor-Protégé program. The SSI-Venesco JV is already making strides with a contract win with U.S. Army Medical Research & Development Command (USAMRDC) and a major Subcontract with Leidos at DHS/CBP.

All in a Name

While the name may bring to mind many opportunities for marketing – the Yak as a mascot, let’s ‘yak’ about our success… The word Samyak means complete, whole or perfect, and aptly describes the focus of this team on delivering complete, whole and perfect solutions to clients.

Leveraging Relationships

SSI actively pursue relationships where it can, opening conversations with ANC’s, seeking partners of various sizes and across a range of expertise. The company also expands relationships with clients where it can, taking a ‘what else can we do for you’ approach.

Building on relationships with clients, the company brings industry partners to the table, putting together the puzzle pieces needed to solve the challenge before them in a way that satisfies the client and ensures each of the partners benefits.

SSI also works with large industry partners, benefitting from their mentorship and modelling, while providing the small business access the larger partners may need.

Growth

Looking to 2024 as a significant growth year, SSI will be pursuing additional contract vehicles, continuing to focus its efforts on ensuring customer satisfaction, delivery of quality products and services, and maintaining its focus on integrity. “I have always been treated fairly when I was a sub and I want to do the same for subcontractors when we get into the prime contract position because relationships go a long way.”

The company will also be seeking new mentors, others who can guide it along its growth path from various perspectives. “We have a great mentor at the moment who has the 8(a) view but we are also looking to large businesses who can help guide our growth path.”

Giving Back

Beyond an entrepreneurial spirit, Seema is focused on giving back. A co-founder of Women Empowerment Foundation, she focuses energy on helping victims of domestic abuse become self-reliant.

“Running her own business means she doesn’t have a lot of free time. However, she firmly believes in making the most of the one life we have and giving back whenever possible. Her focus is on doing good deeds within her capacity, emphasizing the importance of taking action while the opportunity exists, as it may not always be the case.”

Seema extends this commitment to her personal life as well as her business. She is co-founder of a women’s empowerment foundation and has been an active member of the community for years, serving on committees, volunteering, and engaging with families. This experience has given her unique insights into the challenges and opportunities facing our schools. She began serving her first four-year term as the Sully District representative on the Fairfax County School Board on January 1, 2024.
