NESDIS Community Day: Overview and Update on the NESDIS Commercial Data Program General Request for Information (G-RFI)
NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Office of Systems Architecture and Engineering (SAE) will host an online Commercial Data Program (CDP) Community Day 1-2:30pm Eastern, Thursday, Sept. 26. The focus of this community day is to provide a NESDIS CDP status and describe how NESDIS is using the results from the General Request for Information (G-RFI) released by the NESIDS CDP in December 2023. Presenters will offer an update on the G-RFI process, outcome, methodology, technology types considered, and considerations of NOAA mission needs. Other topics will include the objectives and future plans of the NESDIS CDP, including operational data purchases and data pilot projects to support NOAA’s observational requirements.
This will be a virtual event. Interested parties can find more information, including registration, here.
Questions from the community are highly encouraged. Questions can be emailed in advance to nesdiscdp@noaa.gov with the subject line “NESDIS CDP Community Day 2024” no later than noon Eastern, Sept. 25. Moderated questions will also be accepted online during the Community Day program. Sensitive personally identifiable information, such as account numbers and Social Security numbers, should not be included with the registration. Questions or comments unrelated to the NESDIS Commercial Data Purchase Community Day will not be accepted.”
