Key CMS industry event takeaways – RAAM, PM3, CCW, RAA, APS, and much more – More than 18 active opportunities covered

Members of the OrangeSlices AI team attended Friday’s popular Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services industry focused networking event.    

If you don’t go to this recurring and increasingly popular event series hosted by Shelley McGuire, you are missing out. It is always a fun and well-run event filled with valuable updates and connections added every time. (Track Shelley’s events here) 

For those who were unable to attend, included below is an overview detailing some of the most relevant topics and opportunities that OS AI heard at the event.

Opportunities Discussed 

  • RAAM – Research Analysis Assessment Measurement (formerly known as RMADA II)–  Alex Jarema is the CO on this. There are a lot of things up in the air at the time. Most notably there is ongoing discussion about how HHS is not meeting its spend management goals.  
  • CMS Administrative Simplification HIPAA Enforcement Program Support – This is expected to go out on 8(a) Stars III with an RFP expected out around December 7th. Aaron Blackshire is the CO. 
  • CMS Marketplace Assister Technical Support (MATS) Program – This will be awarded as a sole-source action with a Limited Source Justification being published, as they agency has some key work left to complete. Subcontracting goals do remain in place. GDIT is the incumbent.  
  • CMS Support for Enterprise Architecture Services Information Technology (SEAS IT) and SEASTheordore Luster and Jeremy Garvin are the CS and CO. This is expected to go out on MAS as a SB set-aside action – potentially 8(a). More is to come.  
  • CMS Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor Jurisdiction A (DME MAC JA) – Malissa Shin is the CO. Not currently expected to be set-aside.  
  • CMS Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse (CCW)Jennifer Davis is the CO. Word is it may be coming out on 8(a) STARS, but we are not sure if it is finalized yet.   
  • CMS Scoring and Feedback – This will be extended 1-2 years. Any recompete is expected out on ACME. Sabrina Thompson is the CO. 
  • CMS PM3 – They are working on a new iteration of that procurement, A scope change is expected, which may lead to an RFI being posted. Sabrina Thompson is the CO.  
  • CMS Advanced Provider Screening (APS) – Expected to go out on STARS III (could drop anytime in the next 60 days) – A Holiday Present. If it drops just before the holiday, let Anita Allen know and she will fight to make sure you get ample time to respond. They are not expected to request certification when they post that. 
  • CMS DAPS (Data Analytics and Program Support) – this is for Implementation and Operationalization of Medicare Prescription Drug Provisions of the IRA. The current push is for this to go out unrestricted, but it is still being evaluated.  
  • CMS End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) – The acquisition strategy is still under review. It is expected to go out MIDS with Scott Filipovits as the contact.

As discussed a few weeks back, Christine Haber is taking over as the second small business specialist that will be supporting CMS. She is expected to cover Jason Vollmer (Marketplace, RMADA (now RAAM), etc.) and Juanita Wilson’s (MAC contracts, etc) groups. Anita will be keeping all IT and all MIDS types of contracts.
