Members of the OrangeSlices AI team attended yesterday’s popular Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services industry-focused networking event.
If you don’t go to this recurring and increasingly popular event series hosted by Shelley McGuire, you are missing out. It is always a fun and well-run event filled with valuable updates and connections added every time. (Track Shelley’s events here)
For those who were unable to attend, included below is an overview detailing some of the most relevant topics and opportunities that OS AI heard at the event, including details on a few new CMS-focused IT events that will help kick off FY 2024.
*Please note that this is the way OS AI heard it. If you are pursuing any of these opportunities, we encourage you to validate this information. We all know how quickly things can change. If anyone heard something different from what we provided, please message us at support@orangeslices.ai and we will make any changes necessary.
CMMI Data Aggregation – This came out as a MRAS via GSA recently and was out for a week, with only two small businesses responding. Word is that the scope of the SOO has changed, and this will be re-released very soon (it may already be out) and it will be active for two weeks. Deloitte is the incumbent. The focus of this effort is at the intersection of data analytics and knowing models/how they work. Greg Snider and Aaron Blackshire are the Contracting Officer and Contracting Specialist. If you can perform even partially, make sure to respond so that they can justify maximizing subcontracting opportunities if they choose to compete this unrestricted.
PM3 – This will have a new iteration and scope change. More to come.
Scoring and Feedback – This is being extended for 1-2 years, with any planned recompete expected to take place on ACME.
RMADA II – The new name for this requirement will be RAAM (updated). Besides that, no substantive update was provided on RMADA at this point.
CCSQ ISG – This group will have an industry day (one or more). They are looking for new blood as many smalls they rely on have graduated or are close to graduating. The industry days will be run through Anita Allen. There will be procurements that do not go on DASH or ACME during the 2nd half of next year. They want to try out some smaller businesses on some smaller requirements to test them.
HHS OSDBU to host Large Business meet Small Business event On December 7th – This is currently expected to be both in person and virtual. Registration is expected to open the week after Thanksgiving. The industry days are expected to be posted here – https://osdbu.hhs.gov/
As a heads up, Christine Haber is the second small business specialist who will be supporting CMS. She is expected to cover items such as the MAC contracts with the Juanita Wilson and Jason Vollmer groups. Anita will be supporting RAAM. Anita will be keeping all IT and all MIDS types of contracts. Not sure who to call? Call Anita.

We cannot and will not speculate here as to the reasons for the increased interest, but whether it is a company evaluating them as a potential partner; a federal acquisition leader doing their due diligence; or a consultant weighing their next job move, this group of companies has been receiving increased interest.
