The recent word out of the Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is that the next iteration of this 5-year contract to provide support for the office which leads the DHS efforts to implement the National Policy for Countering Improvised Explosive Devices (National C-IED Policy) and enhances the nation’s ability to prevent, protect against, respond to, and mitigate the use of explosives against critical infrastructure, will be going out as a small business set-aside action after all.

Last awarded in 2021, Deloitte Consulting is the current incumbent for this contract which seeks to obtain strategic and programmatic policy, analysis, planning, communications, outreach, and engagement support to the Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) in an effort to promote awareness of the domestic threat posed by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and communicate the value of OBP programs and services in protecting against this threat to various stakeholders.

We cannot and will not speculate here as to the reasons for the increased interest, but whether it is a company evaluating them as a potential partner; a federal acquisition leader doing their due diligence; or a consultant weighing their next job move, this group of companies has been receiving increased interest.
