Following the news that REI Systems had appointed this industry veteran, known for his expertise in driving operational excellence and strategic growth, as COO, OS AI connected with Gregg Garrett to learn more about the plan to build a successful employee-centered company for the long-term by establishing trusted and value-added partnerships in both government and industry.

In a Nutshell

I have over 35 years of experience in the U.S. Federal Information Technology (IT) industry, including serving as a USAF Military Officer and as an Industry Senior Executive (COO, CIO, CISO) at both Fortune 500 companies and small businesses. I have led the P&L of over $40 Billion of high technology complex IT, telecommunications, space communications, and cybersecurity programs and contracts worldwide. Last year, I was fortunate to receive the American Council of Technology (ACT) Industry Advisory Council (IAC) Individual Contributor of the Year Award.

Why the move to REI Systems?

After spending over a decade in leadership roles at large Fortune 500 companies it is a refreshing opportunity for me to work in a mid-size Federal IT company like REI SYSTEMS. Specifically, what attracted me to REI SYSTEMS is the outstanding company culture, which is truly employee-centered and highly customer focused. I also value having nearly 1,000 REI IT and cybersecurity professionals with amazing IT modernization, digital transformation, Customer Experience (CX), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity capabilities all focused on improving customer mission results.

What’s Ahead

REI SYSTEMS is well positioned with its new CXO team to take the company to new heights in terms of expanded digital transformation offerings to support the U.S. Federal IT industry. The REI SYSTEMS senior leadership team is focused on building a successful employee-centered company for the long-term (next 25 years) by establishing trusted and value-added partnerships in both government and industry nationwide.

Watching Trends

The key trends we are focused on include the appropriate and ethical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist U.S. Federal Government agencies in doing their jobs better, faster, and more efficiently. Likewise, we are dedicated to supporting our government customers in their respective digital transformation and software application modernization journeys. Plus, we are excited to support our government customers in the application of cybersecurity measures including the implementation of zero trust architecture, continuous Authority to Operate (cATO), and the intersection of cyber with customer experience (CX) and user experience (UX).

Partners Sought

REI has a 35-year history of growth from a small business to a highly successful mid-size company and is a two-time winner of the Government Contractor of the Year in 2021 & 2023 ($75M to $300M).  REI has well established strategic partnerships with numerous large, mid-size, and small businesses, including several very successful joint-venture (JV) agreements with small business partners.  We are continually searching for the best of breed technologies, services, and partners to provide the best possible solutions for our demanding government customers. We have extensive experience in the U.S. Federal Health IT, Homeland Security IT, Space IT, and are expanding our presence in Defense IT.
