The competitive landscape for the Federal IT and Consulting sector is dynamic, with companies entering and exiting every day for a range of reasons. A goal for any Government and GovCon leader is to identify, establish relationships with, and support firms, and their respective leaders, which are positioned to serve as the next generation of highly successful GovCon small businesses.

Every other week, we will highlight a handful of very small, but rapidly emerging businesses that are NEW (have been formed and/or launched in the past few years) and that should be on your radar as both a potential partner and competitor.

This week we cover two emerging Federal Health companies, both founded by former Feds, having early success with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Veterans Affairs, a rising geospatial and AI-powered data analytics firm who has been winning (a lot!), and a newly formed and formidable WOSB Cybersecurity consultancy with deep roots at DHS and across numerous DOD organizations.

#risingstar Something is working here. Led by industry veteran and CEO, Manik Rath, who can lay claim to a track record of performance as a senior executive with some of the top GovCon brands in the marketplace, and Co-founder, CTO and geospatial data and systems expert, Jason Dalton, this small business, has been seeing significant early success and growth (to include recently being awarded a patent for its groundbreaking work in environmental remediation AI-powered predictive analytics). With a dedicated focus on supporting the federal agencies that are safeguarding our nation’s security, safety and health, by bringing highly experienced experts in data analytics, artificial intelligence and other advanced IT, and intelligence analysis areas, this company is one to watch.  #geospatial analysis, #intelligenceanalysis #datascience #esri #hiring

Minerva Cyber Technologies

Only launched this past Spring, this woman owned small business cybersecurity services and products company, composed of expert Cybersecurity Professionals, to include US Cyber Command and National Security Agency veterans, is the newest firm on this list by far. With an executive team that includes established industry veteran Kim Irving, a CEO and Senior Executive with 25 years of small business experience to include new ventures and start-ups; and COO Dan Van Wagenen, a seasoned Cybersecurity professional with over 18 years of experience managing and maintaining high-level mission critical systems and programs, Minerva Cyber is certain to be in demand as a partner. This is especially true for firms looking to leverage this EDWOSB certified firm’s broad set of past personal expertise supporting DHS/CISA, DOD, DIA, DARPA, DISA, USCYBERCOM, State, NSA and ARCYBER. #Cybersecurity #DevSecOps

Archesys

On the heels of winning its first Prime contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, this 8(a) certified firm founded by Ketan Patel, a former CMS OIT Cloud Lead and a USDS Digital Service Expert, appears to be making all of the right moves (and hires) of late. Armed with relationships and perspective gained driving significant Federal initiatives across the Federal sector and a set of capabilities that range from Digital Strategy, Modernization, Cloud Governance & Operations, and FinOps, to Software Development, Product/Platform Engineering and IT Services Design Thinking, this small business has become one of the most viewed companies on our partner platform of late. #makingwaves

Blue Tiger

Whether it is supporting Veterans Affairs efforts to understand how to migrate millions of Veterans from legacy credential providers to Login.gov, or helping to facilitate a series of product management workshops to support development of a roadmap for #systemsmodernization at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, this newly launched and well-connected people-first, design-forward digital consultancy is making quick in roads with some of the biggest Federal Health agencies. Founded by CEO Shashank Khandelwal, a former member of 18F and fellow at CFP, and President, Chris Smith, an industry growth leader who has supported and driven growth for some of the top GovCon firms in the sector today, early success was to be expected for this #alwaysremote small business.  #digitalservices #HCD #onetowatch
