$35M CMS CCSQ Information Systems Foundational Components Support RFP pushed right

Updated January 11, 2024

Update: The latest word out of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is that the RFP related to the recompete of this Center for Clinical Standards and Quality requirement has been pushed back to August of 2024. The RFP, which is expected to be released as a small business set-aside action on the new ACME BPA, had been identified as coming out as early as this month.

It is unclear if the reason for the delay in the RFP release is directly related to the barrage of recent protests filed on the $1B CMS ACME IDIQ, but that won’t stop the announced Prime contract awardees, and their key sub partners, from continuing to gear up to bid on this 5-year ISFC requirement.

More details will be shared as they are made available.

Background

Flexion is known incumbent on this contract which was last competed and awarded in late FY 2020 as a small business set-aside task order on the ADELE-QRI BPA, with an initial total contract value of $37M over a 4 ½ year period of performance. Contract details and spend to date can be found here (75FCMC20F0001).

This case study published on the Flexion website details the challenge, solution, and results related to an awarded task order to provide a Foundational Components team that would “be responsible for the overall quality, security, reliability, delivery, and efficiency of the QPP platform. This team of DevSecOps and site reliability engineers provides technical decision-making recommendations, develops common components, advocates for cross-product technical continuity, and serves as embedded liaisons (ELs) for several different QPP application development teams.”
