As the largest Federal provider of health care, the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) peer review program is a critical element of quality management and demonstrates the agency’s commitment to providing the highest quality care possible for Veterans.  To keep compliant with VHA Directive 1190 and to foster a process for improving the rigor and objectivity of peer review, VHA seeks a national Contractor with proven expertise in conducting peer review across all provider disciplines.

The contractor will provide external expertise and conduct a peer review of selected episodes of care. The contractor will use the provided platform (Electronic Health Record) for the review of medical records and report templates.  Under this Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), the contractor will conduct the following:

  • Peer Review for Quality Management – Audits, Facility Request Reviews
  • Management Review – Management Review, Clinical Appeals
  • Medical Advisory Opinions
  • Executive Summaries
  • Reports
  • Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) Studies

For each BPA Call Order, the contractor will provide staff to perform the services requested, comprehensive management, and supervision of contractor resources, and any required deliverables.

The period of performance of this BPA is ten years (October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2034), one five-year base plus one five-year option.  Each BPA Call Order will specify the period of performance to govern that Call Order.
