This is Call 001, under the FAST CSO FA9301-21-S-C001. This is a two-step closed Call. In the first step, potential industry partners provide white papers. The Air Force reviews those white papers and select those that best meet the objectives described within this Call. The second step is a request for full proposals. The Air Force intends to negotiate.
Background. The U.S. Air Force Test Center (AFTC), MDTF functions as the integrative and administrative core for test programs to accelerate change in a Joint All-Domain Command and Control Environment. The MDTF is an agile and innovative group with collaboration across extensive competencies and experience from its mission partners: Air Force Warfare Center, Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center, and the U.S. Space force. The AFTC, in conjunction with sister services, executes test and evaluation (T&E) of weapon systems in support of delivering combat-credible materiel to our combat-credible military forces in the context of great power competition.
Call Objectives Data Analysis Tool Repository Optimization. Tools that have been developed to analyze data from complex test events, primarily in Python by engineers versus software developers, have recently moved into several git repositories in a .mil git lab. While this has provided broader access to tools, imposed revision control, and enabled collaborative development, the collection of repositories has not been optimized. Modern best practices such as a clear naming convention, branch strategy, packing strategy, utilization of CI/CD pipeline capabilities, and use of security features for dependencies would greatly enhance the effectiveness of the tools …
