Bio:
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Laura Mills, is a subject matter expert in IT financial management, including FinOps and TBM. She is a transformational leader with a proven record of implementing large scale technology financial management frameworks across diverse organizations. After 18 years serving the U.S. Federal Government as a budget and program management professional, Laura is excited to offer her expertise to organizations across all industries.
Her expertise extends to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Neptune Cloud Management Office FinOps Team, where she plays a key role in establishing their FinOps Practice. This includes conducting FinOps maturity assessments, establishing KPIs, and creating a comprehensive cloud resource tagging policy.
At SAIC, Laura spearheaded the implementation of FinOps SaaS platform solutions for Federal and State agencies. These solutions deliver a unified view (single pane of glass) across multi-cloud environments, enabling organizations to optimize cloud spending through insightful dashboards and reports.
At the U.S. Department of Energy, she led a Department-wide transformation by implementing TBM across their $4 billion IT investment portfolio.
Furthermore, she led the Department’s FinOps initiative. Her leadership extended to collaborating with the General Services Administration (GSA) on a pilot program, influencing best practices for cloud cost management across the Federal Government.
Laura’s ability to manage complex IT budgets is further demonstrated by her responsibility for formulating and reporting Energy’s cybersecurity budget.
