After a strong 2024, National Consulting Partners LLC (NCP) has earned recognition for its commitment to veteran hiring and retention, a spot on the Inc. 5000 list, inclusion in the 2025 Vet100 List, and an Elev8 GovCon Honoree award. We spoke with Harry Stewart, President and CEO; Brian Biggs, Co-founder and Vice President; Geoffrey Ames, Co-Founder and Vice President; and Matthew Robinson, Director of Business Strategy, to explore how NCP has maintained its identity through rapid growth and what lies ahead for this thriving SDVOSB.
Culture Embedded from the Start
Coming out of the Marine Corps, President and CEO Harry Stewart’s perspective came from a culture focused on two main things – mission accomplishment and troop welfare, with anything else a distant third. This has been at the basis of NCP’s own culture in the Federal government contracting market.
“We are here to deliver for our clients and provide the technology solutions and services they need. At the same time, we have to ensure sure that our people are taken care of because ultimately, the solutions that we provide are based entirely on the health and talents of our workforce.”
Since its inception, NCP has emphasized strong collaboration, professional development, and a supportive work environment. Growing from three founders to a workforce of 30 today, the company has focused on fostering a culture that keeps employees engaged and connected.
Maintaining Identity
NCP acknowledges the challenge of maintaining employee identity and connection while supporting various projects and clients across the US.
“We’ve made significant efforts to keep our employees connected to NCP. This includes monthly all-hands meetings and project-specific check-ins to ensure they feel supported. We celebrate milestones like anniversaries and birthdays, and we actively involve team members on the ground in business development. This allows them to share insights into client challenges, apply their expertise, and feel directly involved in driving our growth,” says Biggs.
“We are mindful that our employees are individuals with personal lives and challenges that matter. Whether it’s providing financial support for emergency childcare or offering flexible PTO policies to handle personal priorities, we strive to maintain a personal touch in how we interact with our team. Ensuring this approach is central to our culture is incredibly important to us.”
The Partner Lens
NCP seeks partnerships with government clients and industry teaming partners that prioritize collaboration and combine strengths to deliver valuable solutions. The company also values partnerships with like-minded, data and technology-driven firms, finding synergy with organizations that share similar goals. “We enjoy being a trusted advisor to our clients and government stakeholders, and we prefer partners equally committed to this approach. These relationships are less transactional and more focused on mutual success and outcomes,” says Robinson.
Committed to building long-term, trust-based relationships, NCP also supports startups by helping them enter their target markets and preparing them to engage with agencies like the VA. “We enthusiastically mentor younger companies with complementary capabilities, sharing the lessons we’ve learned. Supporting entrepreneurship and veterans is central to who we are” says Stewart.
Since launching in 2020, NCP has quickly established a strong client base at the VA and built solid partnerships, signaling a bright future. “We offer large-business capabilities in a small-business package. We’re deep and wide in what we can deliver, easy to work with, and always open to meaningful conversations with partners and clients.
What’s Next
Building on its work with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NCP plans to expand its expertise to other agencies, especially those that work with health and health-adjacent data and technologies. “We’re engaged in transformative projects at the VA, especially in data governance, management, and AI/ML,” the team shared. “This work excites us, and we see significant opportunities to scale these use cases to other agencies while staying true to our mission with the VA.”
NCP is deliberate in pursuing projects that align with its values and provide meaningful opportunities for its team. “We’re careful not to spread ourselves too thin,” Robinson emphasized. “As we grow and scale, we remain committed to preserving the NCP identity—ensuring our brand, culture, and technical capabilities continue to stand out in a crowded field.”
