The news was swirling, but was finally confirmed yesterday of several HUGE moves at HHS.
Said Stephen Konya, HHS ASTP Chief for Innovation and Strategic Partnerships:
“Excited to FINALLY share that after months of searching through countless highly qualified applicants, HHS / ASTP has officially hired and onboarded the following 3 key leadership roles; – HHS Chief Technology Officer: Alicia Rouault – HHS Chief AI Officer: Meghan M. Dierks, MD, FACS – HHS Chief Data Officer: Kristen Honey
I’m excited to work with each of them on ways we can further advance healthcare innovation inside of and across all HHS agencies, as well as externally through public private partnerships, public policies, and other strategic engagements! Please join me in welcoming these three brilliant individuals to the HHS / ASTP Team!
Alicia Rouault, the new Chief Technology Officer at HHS, who moves over after several years of tackling complex service delivery efforts for United States Digital Service, said: “Today, I start my next chapter as the Chief Technology Officer at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where I’ll be joining an outstanding circle of technology leaders, including our new Chief AI Officer, Meghan M. Dierks, MD, FACS, our new Chief Data Officer, Kristen Honey and Steven Posnack, our Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy at Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy.
Together we’ll be building out a new Office of the Chief Technology Officer at HHS, charged with leading HHS’ digital strategy and digital services for HHS programs, developing HHS data policy, anticipating emergent technology and data needs, and coordinating innovation across HHS programs to encourage experimentation, R&D and adoption of new technology.”
2025 will be a year of change and HHS is taking steps to meet these emerging needs.
