DOD OIG CIO takes on additional role as Chief AI Officer

I’m honored to share that, in accordance with Executive Order 14110 on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence, I have been appointed the Chief AI Officer for the DoD OIG, in addition to my current role as the agency’s Chief Information Officer (CIO).  As part of my expanded responsibilities, I will focus on enhancing our data quality through a robust data governance framework, ensuring our data is AI-ready by proving its fitness for AI use cases through improved data management practices. My new priorities will also include establishing a comprehensive AI adoption strategy, creating policies for a responsible AI Risk Management Framework, and setting ethical standards and guiding principles to ensure the safe and responsible use of AI.  I look forward to the journey ahead and the new opportunities it will bring to advance our mission forward in transformative ways.
