Chenega Corporation is pleased to announce the promotion of Terry M. Nihart to President of the Security Strategic Business Unit (SSBU). This promotion follows the retirement of Tim Lamb.
Colonel (Ret.) Terry M. Nihart, a distinguished U.S. Army Military Police officer with 25 years of service, joined Chenega in January 2020 as Senior Director of Business Development for the Security SBU. He quickly ascended through the ranks, taking on increasingly responsible roles, including Vice President of Business Development in September 2020. By October 2022, he was named President of two SSBU operating companies—Chenega Security International, LLC and Chenega Management, LLC. In October 2023, Terry was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations and Business Development for the SSBU.
Terry’s distinguished military career includes high-profile assignments, such as serving as Chief of Operations for the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, Group Commander of the 701st Military Police Group (CID), and Executive Officer to the Commanding General of both the XVIII Airborne Corps and ISAF Joint Command in Kabul, Afghanistan. He has earned numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit, two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, and the Combat Action Badge.
Terry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lock Haven University, a Master’s degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida, and a Master’s degree in National Security and Resource Strategy from the National Defense University’s Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.
Terry’s leadership has been instrumental in the success of Chenega’s Security SBU, which has achieved record-breaking growth under his guidance. His contributions to business development and operational excellence have led to significant accomplishments and a promising future for the SBU.
