FEMA recruits Diego Lapiduz to serve as Chief Technology Officer

The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has named Diego Lapiduz as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

In the role of CTO, Lapiduz will help lead FEMA’s technology strategy, driving innovation across mission and enterprise systems. His focus will include advancing cloud computing, open data, analytics, and cybersecurity to strengthen FEMA’s operational capabilities. He will also guide technology investments, spearhead change management, and enhance interoperable communications to support disaster preparedness and response efforts nationwide.

Lapiduz brings a wealth of experience to FEMA, having previously held high-level positions such as Director of Engineering at VMware Tanzu, Senior Director of Security, Cloud, and Productivity Engineering at Puppet, and Director of Software Engineering at Capital One. He also served as Chief Information Security Architect for Azure Government at Microsoft.

With a career marked by innovation and strategic leadership, Lapiduz is poised to drive FEMA’s mission of protecting communities and improving disaster resilience through cutting-edge technology.
