Update on Mission Partner Capabilities Office Acquisition Strategy The Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO) is pleased to announce the successful Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) contract award, which will support many of the existing MPCO-owned capabilities.
We want to inform Industry of a shift in our previously communicated intent as we move forward. Reorganization and New Direction In 2023, the Air Force underwent a significant reorganization, resulting in a transfer of DoD MPE Executive Agent responsibilities to the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Department of the Air Force (DAF). As part of this reorganization, the DoD Enterprise MPE Capabilities were retained by the Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO), while the SABRE program was reassigned to the Air Force Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, and Networks (AF PEO C3I&N).
As a result of this reorganization, MPCO’s mission has been modified, and we are no longer pursuing the “4 pillars of contracting” strategy outlined in June 2020. This strategy had identified four key areas: OM&S, Architecture, Engineering & Integration, Transformative, and Independent Verification & Validation, focusing on modular contracting. Future Acquisition Strategies As MPCO continues to execute operations, maintenance, and sustainment of existing Enterprise MPE capabilities, we anticipate developing acquisition strategies that align with our goal of moving the enterprise forward.
While these strategies may still be informed by the original pillars, they may also take a different approach. Please note that our plans are not yet finalized, and we will post any new information on Sam.gov when available. Industry Engagement The Government remains committed to engaging with industry and exchanging information as we develop requirements for this effort. We appreciate your continued interest and support and look forward to collaborating with you in the future.
