To meet the vision laid out in Force Design and Training and Education-2030, the Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE) is being replaced by the Marine Common Virtual Platform (MCVP).  MCVP will be the primary platform for Marines to access virtual and constructive simulations across the Fleet Marine Force (FMF).

MCVP shall provide a Joint Fires Training (JFT) capability.  The JFT will satisfy the requirement for an interactive training system, capable of providing standards-based training and rehearsal of critical cognitive skills associated with the application of combined arms by the Marine Air-Ground Task Force at the Marine Expeditionary Unit and below.  JFT shall facilitate training doctrinal fire support roles and responsibilities in a 2D and immersive 3D environment (Mixed Reality (MR)/Virtual Reality (VR)).

MCVP shall provide the JFT COTS solution as parts of its common platform with any associated head mounted display required to support an immersive 3D environment (MR/VR).

The MCVP capability must be able to connect to and across the wide variety of Marine Corps and partner service networks which exist today. MCVP must be able to support classified operations and networking over classified networks up to SECRET (Threshold); TOP SECRET (Objective).
