State Dept. RFI: Establishment of 3 FFRDCs to drive diplomacy and modernization collaboration

The U.S. Department of State (DoS), Bureau of Administration, published a notice in the Federal Register of its intention to establish and sponsor three (3) Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) to facilitate public-private collaboration for activities related to diplomacy and modernization.  Established under the authority of 48 CFR 35.017, FFRDCs are government-owned, contractor-operated research centers that are created when special long-term research or development needs of a federal agency cannot be met effectively by existing in-house or contractor resources.  DoS invites comments on the proposed action, in particular, feedback on the scope of the work to be performed by the FFRDCs, and the presence of any existing private- or public-sector capabilities in these areas that DoS should be considering.   Written comments are due on August 15, 2024, at 5 PM ET.  Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e4gETw49
