DHS detailed plans yesterday to compete a NEW task order requirement in May for services to support and assist the federal staff within all CISOD organizational units, but conflicting information will ensure plenty of calls will be placed to the CO as they look to influence the final acquisition strategy.
The latest word out of DHS is that this short-term task, which is relatively small (projected to be less than $5M) will be competed in early May as a SB set-aside, but the agency indicated that the requirement would go out on Alliant 2, which is an unrestricted contract vehicle.
More will be shared when and if additional information is provided.
Background
The DHS Chief Information Security Officer Directorate (CISOD) is responsible for developing a comprehensive management approach for ensuring compliance with Federal legislation, regulation and guidelines, departmental policies, and procedures, as well as ensuring information systems operate at an acceptable level of risk based on the designated mode of operations. The DHS CISOD includes the DHS Enterprise and Management Directorate for cyber security management, oversight, and customer support.
The Contractor(s) will support sub-organizational units within the CISOD which include Policy, Business Operations, and Cybersecurity Service Delivery Branches. The resulting task is expected to also include cybersecurity policy, assistance for Cybersecurity related missions as required meeting DHS, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), and CISOD strategic plans, mission goals and objectives.
