Sandtable just landed a 5-year contract with the US Army worth up to $38 million to develop advanced agentic AI technology.
The “agentic” part means we’ll be working with DEVCOM’s Army Research Lab to create systems that can think and act more autonomously, intelligently, and contextually within specific environments, ultimately helping soldiers in training and on deployment.
We’ve all learned in the past couple years that LLMs demonstrate impressive versatility. The problem is often that their broad training on vast datasets can sometimes leave them lacking the deep contextual understanding and specialized knowledge lots of us require for performance in highly focused domains. Agentic AI represents an emerging paradigm that offers a solution to these limitations. By enabling LLMs to function more capably in today’s operational environments, agentic AI is recognized as a key approach to unlocking the full potential of these models for specialized needs.
