RMC awarded $54M NSWCCD IT Support Services task

RMC has been awarded the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) task order. Under this $54M order, RMC will provide RDT&E network engineering and sustainment, system administration, service desk, portfolio management, service management, software development, cybersecurity, and cloud computing and engineering services throughout the warfare center.

This award complements similar work that RMC performs as a prime contractor supporting the RDT&E and scientific computing needs of NAWCAD Patuxent River, NSWC Indian Head Division, NSWC Dahlgren Division, NIWC Atlantic, and NIWC Pacific. With this award, RMC is executing prime contracts supporting the IT needs of six Naval Warfare Centers.

We specialize in enabling the complex capabilities and addressing the unique IT needs that are abundant within the Naval Warfare Centers. This includes: engineering high-throughput and low-latency networks that support Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) test and training environments and modeling and simulation (M&S) facilities; building and administering hybrid cloud computing capabilities with on-premise data centers and Azure and AWS GovCloud to increase computing cost efficiency, provide labs with RDT&E-as-a-service capabilities, and meet elastic computing requirements; implementing software-defined wired and wireless networks that support zero trust architecture to increase security while providing flexible connectivity options; using Ansible Tower and other automation tools and scripts to implement Infrastructure-as-Code functionality, create efficiencies, and increase security through consistent application of security controls; implementing CI/CD pipelines and software factories to enable modern software development practices, containerization, and DevSecOps processes to rapidly deliver software; and cyber network defense (CND) and cybersecurity support to protect the hard work performed at each warfare center from damage or exfiltration by our nation’s opponents.

We are excited to bring our Naval Warfare Center-specific technical insights, solutions, and lessons learned to support NSWCCD and enable its mission as the Navy’s center of excellence for ships and ship systems.
