Recognizing the complexity of the world we live in, the opportunity to meet with a team with broad expertise supporting primary and ancillary technology solutions for government customers, who also brings a focus on finding simple solutions for federal agencies faced with complex challenges, was one we could not pass up. Here, Infotrend CEO Gurpreet Singh shares the opportunity for ethical businesses, why change teaches everyone, and the importance of nurturing the ecosystem.

Nurture the Ecosystem

Recognizing the basic human needs shared by employees, partners and clients, that mindset of being aware of and nurturing the ecosystem in which you live is essential. “Sharing in their good news, providing support and encouragement, in the long run benefits them, us and everyone around them.”

Having been the recipient of that kind of support early in business, this is a cycle of behavior Gurpreet believes in completing, and in repeating.

Change teaches Everyone

Gurpreet is liberal with his time when it comes to providing insight and mentorship. Rather than providing guidance or advice based on initial thoughts, perceptions, or his own ideas however, he prefers to hear questions, to have an idea of the individual vision and path. “That approach allows me to see where I might help and is the best way to support someone. It not only helps them, but it may also give me insights or a perspective I may not have had.”

Understanding that the GovCon landscape can be fluid, with significant changes coming and new demands appearing on the horizon regularly. Having that community to engage with, listen to, and share ideas with helps everyone adapt, troubleshoot, and reposition.

“Business leaders at all levels are entrepreneurs, innovative thinkers. We are all trying to figure out our end, tackle our set of issues and problems. In every conversation there is an opportunity to learn, to have the opportunity to gain from a different perspective.”

Ethical Business

Amongst a growing appreciation for and requirement to #doitright, there multiple drivers for why business leaders and companies turn to more ethical approaches for conducting business. That approach may include a view of ROI as being less about financial gains and more inclusive of the impact on people’s lives whether it be employees, partners or clients.

“My uncle said once that in business there will be ups and downs but if you do things with an honest heart, even if it doesn’t work out, you will know you tried your best and did it the right way. There is satisfaction that comes from job creation, from working with really smart people to impact the lives of citizens.”

Like-Minded Connections

That view of service, of forward-looking change means Infotrend seeks to connect with companies and people who care, about their teams, the work they are doing, down-selecting companies working in advanced and emerging technologies that are looking for ways to improve and make things better.

“We know we cannot do it all ourselves. Finding those partners who can think outside the box, are creative, and focused on doing things better has created partnerships with talented folks we lean on and an ecosystem we continue to develop.”

The Role of the CEO

Building a team of growth leaders, of execution strategists, Gurpreet sees his role as driving the future of Infotrend, of pulling together the growth and mission support organizations, of identifying solutions amidst the buzz words of AI and CX and so on that will make his company, and his clients, smarter and more effective.

It is also about continuing to focus on the goals of alignment in values, with giving back and finding partners who are similarly inclined. “One of the first things I want to know about someone is their personal mission. To understand from a very real place what is authentic, who someone is, you need to get back to basics, to understand what is important from a personal and professional view. Knowing my team and the partners we work with from this view helps us build an ecosystem that will continue to thrive, succeed in the right way and deliver to our clients into the future.”
