Armed with more than a decade of service with the Department of Homeland Security, including time serving in this role, this leader returns.
Kareem Shora is once again listed as Deputy Director, US Department of Homeland Security, Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships.
In posting the news Kareem shared:
I do solemnly swear and affirm that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God. I am happy to announce my new position as Deputy Director for Research and Strategy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (DHS CP3). I am honored to be rejoining #DHS in this new capacity with outstanding teams of experts and dedicated public servants. The DHS targeted #violence and #terrorismprevention approach proactively places #civilrights, #civilliberties, and #privacy concerns as a core component of its programs. The DHS Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (#CRCL), the DHS Privacy Office, and the Office of the General Counsel are involved in every aspect of the DHS prevention mission, particularly in ensuring strategies, programs, and materials are developed and reviewed through these critical lenses. Additionally, CP3 has initiated a strategic engagement process focusing on proactively working with civil rights and civil liberties organizations with the goal of ensuring that these organizations are a key local voice and component in the development and implementation of local violence prevention efforts.
