Today we welcomed U.S. Public Health Service Capt. Edward Dieser to the Defense Health Agency team as the DHA’s Director of Public Health, but LTG Crosland and I would be remiss if we didn’t also thank RADM Brandon Taylor for the tremendous leadership he provided over the last three years. As the Director said in her note to the workforce, RADM Taylor “was instrumental in the establishment of DHA Public Health as the first Flag Officer director specifically with the transition of public health assets and functions from the Services as well as its transformation to align functionally. Our global public health responsibilities are essential to ensuring a medically ready force, and we’re fortunate to have such strong support from the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service in helping us meet this mission.”
Please join us in wishing RADM Taylor all the best as he begins his next assignment at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health and the Director for the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
