ASSYST Team wins First Place at the GSA Federal AI Hackathon

ASSYST is thrilled to announce that our team has been awarded FIRST PLACE at the recent GSA Federal AI Hackathon. This prestigious recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication, creativity, and, most importantly, technical excellence. It underscores our commitment to delivering groundbreaking solutions that tackle complex challenges in federal services, instilling confidence in our partners and clients.

The Federal AI Hackathon featured federal websites from GSA, NSF, USDA, Census Bureau, and EIA and was supported by prominent co-sponsors, including Microsoft, AWS, Groq, OpenAI, Slack, and Cohere. The event challenged participants on how to optimize federal websites to ensure LLMs generate reliable, authoritative answers while continuing to meet individual user needs and expectations. With access to leading-edge AI and cloud tools, over 250 participants across three cities developed solutions to improve AI integration in government services.

GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan presented the award to the ASSYST team, which was recognized as the first-place winner for designing an original interface and recommending an AI-based Smart Search for NSF’s Awards Search website –
