Ardent – AI that Meets Government Goals and Facilitates Innovation for Industry

On the heels of the news that it would be launching AiStreamliner on July 4, 2025, Ardent’s revolutionary new free open-source, one-click solution, bringing the liberty of simplicity to your machine learning operations, we caught up with Mireille Estephan, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Nate Lebel, Senior Director of Solutions Architecture to learn more about this game changer, the opportunity for government and how industry can get involved.

Game Changer Shared

With many entering the race to build the next AI tool to help government move forward with its critical missions, the notion of streamlining the process, of allowing developers to focus on the real challenges, is game changing.

“As we were building the ML around this tool, undertaking the data training and tracking, the infrastructure for the ML, building the guardrails around the AI, we recognized the resource and time consumption was significant and came up with the idea for the AiStreamliner.”

Initially intended as an internal function, the company decided to share the experience to help others focus on building ML models, rather than adding the additional burden of spending time thinking about preparing the environment, deployment and so on.

“What we have created is an Open-Source tool that actually brings in end to end automation to a machine learning initiative. It connects every step from managing the data, training, tracking and deploying models all in one place. It is platform agnostic, scales easily and keeps the workflow in a secure and organized way. It allows users to deploy and view the models they are developing on their own laptops in a secure cloud environment.”

Broad Integration

Integrating several well-known free open-source tools while remaining platform agnostic, AiStreamliner addresses challenges Ardent recognized in its own processes, specifically, time required for infrastructure set up. “We would prepare to set something up in AWS but that was just one infrastructure which would take time to build and set up, and then we would need to do proof of concept in Azure or something else so that was more time.”

Focusing on open-source tools, the team spent time integration these and packaging them for deployment in a Kubernetes environment, making them accessible, scalable, saving time and resources.

“That integration of key open-source tools is the real differentiator. Making everything accessible through a single dashboard allows teams to start working to build, test and deploy AI more quickly and effectively. As more and more people, whether they have experience or not, look to build AI models, the need for control, for deployment in a secure way, becomes critical. “As a CIO or CTO, if you have 50 or 100 engineers or data scientists exploring developing AI models you need to be able to control them as much as you can, to ensure the security component. AiStreamliner provides that but also allows for faster development so users can build, test and decide to move forward or pivot faster using the capabilities, the system you are already familiar with.”

Designed for Innovation and Cost Efficiency

As government is challenged with innovating more quickly, doing so efficiently and cost-effectively, AiStreamliner allows users to use the latest technology to innovate but in a way that boosts productivity by up to 30% and reduces MLOps TCO by 30-50%.

“This solution is for everyone. You don’t need an extensive program in place to be able to use this. It is for agencies just starting up, those who have been working on development and are looking to move into production and allows those who have established themselves to move forward more aligned with the Administration’s goals.”

Opportunity for Industry

Noting an interest in collaboration, Ardent is always looking for partners to continue to evolve and develop its solutions. “Where our tool can integrate with others it is a win-win-win for us, our partners and the clients we serve. “We always look for partners that have the same goal and the same mindset as us – delivering the best we can for our customers. For us it is not only about selling a product. For us it is about making sure that what we are working on and what we are doing is helping our country.”

That includes ensuring AI is available for use, but use in responsible ways, that the limitations are understood, that the building blocks and features that impact AI are known. “This is such an active space and things are changing constantly. As it evolves, we’ll adjust, look to add to support a new platform or environment or use case or whatever. That is where industry collaboration will really come in to continue to guide and drive the future of this.”

Trustworthy AI

Continuing to evolve its solutions, the next step for Ardent will be focused on Responsible and Trustworthy AI that will help users trust what they are utilizing, or developers that they are working on. Acknowledging the critical “garbage in, garbage out” challenge and the need to build trust in data, this new offering will analyze data inputs for potential biases, instances of hallucination, or any other factors that could compromise data integrity and user confidence. The tool will then generate a comprehensive risk assessment, pinpoint the precise location of issues and provide actionable recommendations for their resolution, ultimately fostering a higher degree of trust in the AI’s outputs.

Expect news on this next development soon.
