We are delighted to announce that A1M has become a member of the Digital Women-Owned Small Business Alliance, joining old friends like Bixal, Bloom Works Public Benefit LLC, For People, and Friends From The City, Pluribus Digital …and making new ones.

The Digital WOSB Alliance advocates for companies like ours: mission-driven government digital services providers where women are hands-on managers from the C-suite on down.

Why does that matter? Well, we’ve been told that A1M is unusual. We’ve been told that there are only a handful of women-owned and truly women-led businesses in our field. Yet we work every day on teams from women-owned businesses doing everything from engineering and product management to user experience and agile coaching.

Back in March, CIO magazine documented what it called “the hard truths of an uphill battle” for women at every level in tech. Recent analysis from The Center for Investigative Reporting and USA Today shows that women-owned businesses are still underrepresented in government contracting. It’s a harmful cycle: a perception that there are “not enough” women-managed companies in digital services makes it harder for new ones to get opportunities to prove themselves and succeed.
We’re joining the Digital WOSB Alliance not just to help ourselves, but to expand opportunities for the leaders and businesses of the future.
