The GovCon landscape is constantly changing, with firms merging, being acquired and changing hands. Understanding who these newly formed companies are, and whether anything has changed from a competitive landscape, can be key. With that in mind we recently caught up with Monica Rosser, Chief Growth Officer with newly rebranded Tria Federal, and its Chief Communications Officer Hope Scibal to discuss this new culmination of three proven industry leaders – Federal Advisory Partners – Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC) – UCS – synergistically aligning to become a middle-market IT and Advisory Services powerhouse delivering innovative, technology-enabled digital transformation solutions to civilian, defense, and intelligence agencies across the federal sector.
Strategic Culmination
Bringing together a portfolio that combines deep VA expertise and equal depth within DHA and the civilian ecosystem, the new entity represents a targeted mid tier business blending deep health IT interoperability experience and perspective, built on a cornerstone of small business care and community service.
“We have seen the most dynamic changes over the past 36 plus months in the way business is being done and there is no predictability from one day to the next. Being able to rebrand ourselves as a future proof partner, thinking ahead to what may be around the next corner, Tria Federal is both about the legacy backbone of how we have already delivered and the future we can deliver on.”
Founded in Success
Collectively putting their customers first over nearly two decades, backed by customer accolades and awards for innovation, the newly named company boasts a mission rooted in service, and a focus on bridging capability gaps to help government agencies work faster, grow smarter, and stay nimble in the face of change.
“What we are able to do together is fundamental to our why and the core of our soul does not change. It’s a force multiplier. Together, with a deep talent roster of more than 1,100+ resources across a combined portfolio that now includes over 21 federal agencies, we can offer additional capabilities, vehicles, solutions, insight, and unparalleled reach-back from decades of proven best practices, methodologies, resource assets, and tool sets. What has not changed is the crux of how we deliver. What has changed is that we have turned up the volume a bit on what we can offer and where we can offer it.”
What is New
Among the capabilities that are new is a greater robustness in areas like cybersecurity, all things data, technologies like AI/ML and how the team is building new IT systems and protecting that data. “Another area is the revenue operations we bring from the legacy FAP portfolio that is highly transferrable throughout the Health IT landscape and will allow us to make some real recommendations around fiscal stewardship, which is very critical in the federal space..”
Building on a solid foundation in innovation in EHR modernization, DevSecOps,supply chain innovation and financial transformation, combined with the ability to lead the transition of legacy transitions, the team’s combined perspective opens the door to new conversations and new opportunity. “We have an incredible opportunity now to bring what we are doing within the VA, DHA, DHS, and throughout the civilian and defense markets into the larger civilian health arena, to support making connections under the HHS umbrella and beyond.”
The Future
Noting the aforementioned continually changing GovCon landscape, expect this team to continue to grow organically, and inorganically, to bring in additional acquisitions and mergers that will round out services and partnerships.
“We are focused on being who we have always been albeit bigger and better. We’ll still be giving back to our communities; will still be among the best places to work. We want to do right by our customers, our colleagues, the communities in which we live. The legacy of all of those fantastic small business components remain our mission but we’ll now be able to move it forward to a greater degree in the future.”
“We’re thrilled that there’s such excitement and energy around our new corporate identity. HIMSS 23 in Chicago was a kind of coming out party for the brand, a great opportunity to introduce our new presence to partners and peers across government and industry. We had an incredible team in attendance and our networking event that we co-hosted with BDR Solutions was one of the hottest tickets of the busy HIMSS week – the response to our bold new brand has been overwhelming and so exciting to see.”
True Blending
Understanding that M&A activity can have its challenges, the Tria team focused on a thoughtful integration, a blending of three small businesses. “Engaging everyone across the team at the grassroots level, there was a sense of empowerment in shaping the community we are building together. Spending a solid year, we were conscious not to disrupt the team, to bring people into committees and working groups to allow a cross-section of people at every level of the company to have a seat and a voice, to add their fingerprint to what we are building.”
That same thoughtful approach will be applied to team engagement opportunities, bringing together people in different locations, adding in virtual components, ensuring everyone can be included where they are.
“The people who are with us, who have been part of this journey, understand what we’re doing and why, can make connections between the work and the outcomes we’re delivering. What they have here is the opportunity for a career with purpose, within a company they have helped inform.”
