ECS Names John Lau Vice President of Defense and Intel Solutions

ECS, an IT systems integrator focused on data and AI, cybersecurity, and enterprise transformation solutions, has named John Lau vice president of Defense and Intel Solutions.

As a senior leader in ECS’ Defense and Intel business, Lau will be responsible for delivery excellence across the company’s AI, cloud, cyber, and digital services initiatives within the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corp, and Combatant Commands. His portfolio includes large emerging technology programs, building highly sophisticated AI models, and leveraging modern platform solutions to deliver next-generation defense and intelligence capabilities directly into the hands of our warfighters.

“I’m thrilled to have John join our team,” said Pete Santighian, senior vice president for Defense and Intel at ECS. “His 20 years of experience leading transformative journeys leveraging AI, cloud, and cybersecurity for large federal organizations, and building and leading high-performing teams, will serve us well as we bring even more highly complex technological capabilities to our customers’ rapidly evolving missions.”

Lau joins ECS after serving as a senior strategic advisor and product line lead with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He oversaw the modernization of mission-critical systems and investments in AI, cloud, and cybersecurity capabilities at USPTO and led public-private partnership innovations to accelerate new capabilities to delivery.

As deputy director for the USPTO’s Office of Enterprise Infrastructure Delivery, Lau spearheaded a first-of-its-kind enterprise cloud enclave. As acting chief technology officer and senior advisor at the Department of Commerce’s Office of the Secretary, he enabled greater automation and operational efficiencies through cloud and digital platform capabilities.

“I’m excited to join ECS and support the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence and service,” said Lau. “The team’s work and the missions they support are tremendously important for our nation. I look forward to being part of these efforts to empower people as agents of change, engaging across industry to shape future outcomes and drive mission success forward.”
