It is unclear what next steps are at this point, but those tracking the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention closely will want to note that the latest word out of the agency is that a series of challenges has forced its to reconsider an initial award decision.
The Privacy-Preserving Record Linkage (PPRL) of Patient-Level Real World Healthcare Data contract, which was awarded to EHR and Data Analytics leader, Truveta in early September, will not be moving forward, at least not in its current form. This announcement comes three months after a formal protest was levied with GAO by rival HealthVerity Inc.
Details as to the grounds for the challenge, and/or any related corrective action taken by the agency, have not been released. We will not speculate here as to next steps, but we will keep an eye out for a new award decision should one be made.
