WOSB set-aside alert: FEMA OCFO set to release $50M Financial and IT Audit Services RFP in November

The latest word out of the Department of Homeland Security is that they are preparing to release an RFP next month seeking contractor support for internal controls, and financial and information technology (IT) audit services for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Risk Management and Compliance Division.

This 5-year contract will be in support of the Risk Management and Compliance Division, whose mission is to direct the Branch’s resources towards ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial data by producing reliable information, safeguarding assets, and effectively detecting and responding to errors, fraud, or theft in accordance with DHS policies and Federal laws.

This RFP comes on the heels of FEMA awarding a $100M Financial Audit Remediation Support of Internal Controls and Audit findings BPA just a few weeks ago to woman-owned small business Watkins Government Services. That requirement drew 7 bidders – you can expect a similar amount of competition on this one. DHS is identifying this as a “new requirement” and they are currently slated to compete this using the 541211 NAICS code. There will no doubt be firms trying to get this changed to a more IT category.
