VA seeks support for Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) innovation areas and technologies

As part of a recent announcement, the Department of Veterans Affairs detailed the potential for an upcoming requirement seeking a range of technical and programmatic support services related to the Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA), which aligns, supports, and enables the VA ESA Strategy to address the evolving threat landscape, support VA Business and IT Modernization initiatives, and take advantage of new and emerging security approaches and technologies.

One innovation area ESA is maturing by way of this contract is the Secure Health and Research Environment (SH&RE). SH&RE consists of three primary technologies: Blockchain for Identity and Access Management (IAM) enrichment and auditing; Artificial Intelligence (AI) for de-identification of health data; and Virtual Reality (VR) for 3D-rendered collaboration.
