VA Executive Director, Pension & Fiduciary Service, Dr. Nilijah E Carter, retires

After more than 21 years of dedicated service with the U.S. Army and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – combined, it feels surreal that I am now marking the eighth week since I concluded my federal career. As I reflect on this milestone, I view it as a moment of “new beginnings.”  The decision to retire early was not made lightly. It required much prayer, contemplation, and introspection. Ultimately, the opportunity to embark on a new journey while still young and healthy, one that allows me to focus more on what matters most—my family and the pursuit of other personal goals—affirmed that this was the right path for me…  As I transition into this new chapter of my career, I remain committed to serving Veterans in any capacity, and I look forward to future opportunities to contribute to this important mission. Please know that I am here if any of you need me, as I’m thankful to have made many lifelong friends! I’m only a text, email, or phone call away!  Thank you once again for making my time at the VA such a fulfilling and rewarding experience. I wish continued success to each of you and to the entire team as you continue your vital work in improving the lives of the heroes we serve. Greatest of Blessings always! – Dr. Nilijah E Carter
